A recent Inman News article, ‘How to manage buyer expectations in a shifting market’ by Carl Medford, breaks down the struggles current home buyers are having in a market where prices are still really high and the expectations they have regarding what they can afford is even higher.

Medford offers five considerations buyers should have if they’re having trouble balancing the ‘wants’ and the ‘needs’ in a home that their budget can afford them.

1. Modify your size requirements

2. Consider homes with smaller yards

3. Amend your ‘must have’ list

4. Reconsider your school requirements

5. Do not overlook other configurations
