Nation’s Largest Fresh Food Forest coming to Atlanta

Atlanta | What's going on! |

By the year 2020, 7.1 acres of land near Browns Mill Golf Course and the Lakewood Fairgrounds will be transformed into Georgia’s first, public “food forest”.  It will hold the title of the nation’s largest featuring trees, shrubs and vines that produce fruit.

Other features include a community garden, walking trails and a restored forest.

This “food forest” is part of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms’ initiative to create accessible fresh food within one-half mile for 85% of Atlanta’s residents.
